Zamfara State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of three major roads in the state valued at over forty four billion naira.
The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, announced this while briefing newsmen shortly after the council meeting presided over by Governor Dauda Lawal at Government House, Gusau.
According to the Commissioner, the road projects include the dualization of Unguwar Gwaza Roundabout to Gusau Airport Road, covering ten kilometres at the cost of twenty four point eight billion naira, with a completion period of ten months.
Mahmud Dantawasa further disclosed that the second project is the dualization of Daza Road linking Kaura Namoda and Gusau/Sokoto Federal Highways, measuring four point six kilometres and valued at eleven point eight billion naira.
He added that the project had an eighteen month completion period.
The third project, according to him, involves the rehabilitation of General Muhammadu Buhari Way, J.B. Yakubu Road, Aminu Aliyu Road, and Bebeyi Road at the cost of eight point two billion naira, with a twelve–month completion period.
Dantawasa described the projects as a clear testament to Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to modernizing Gusau, enhancing urban mobility, and creating new economic opportunities for the people of Zamfara.
He stressed that due process had been strictly followed in awarding the contracts, assuring residents that work would commence immediately and be delivered within the stipulated timelines.
