Zamfara State Government has distributed 300 vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles to selected individuals and groups, including religious organisations, across the state as part of its empowerment programme.
Governor Dauda Lawal announced the distribution during the symbolic presentation of the vehicles and motorcycles in Gusau, the state capital, describing the exercise as a significant component of his administration’s Rescue Agenda.

Lawal said the initiative was designed to appreciate the contributions of individuals and groups to the social, economic and political development of Zamfara State.
He explained that the distribution was also aimed at empowering beneficiaries with the resources needed to engage in productive activities, promote self-reliance and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots.
The governor stressed that empowerment should go beyond promises, noting that his administration remained committed to providing practical support that would improve livelihoods and restore the dignity of the people.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the vehicles and motorcycles, saying the gesture was intended to improve mobility, strengthen grassroots engagement and support economic activities across the state.
Lawal reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic revitalisation and the restoration of peace and stability in Zamfara.
He also appreciated the continued support and cooperation of the people and expressed optimism that the security challenges confronting the state would be overcome through collective efforts and divine intervention.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni, urged the beneficiaries to use the vehicles and motorcycles for the purposes for which they were provided and cautioned them against selling the items.
He also called on officials responsible for the distribution to ensure that all the items reached the designated beneficiaries.
The Deputy Governor warned that the government would not condone any attempt to divert the vehicles or motorcycles, adding that anyone found culpable would face appropriate consequences.
Earlier, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Yandi, commended Governor Lawal for the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to supporting individuals and groups across the state.
