The Kaduna State Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Usman Shehu Bawa, popularly known as Shehu ABG, has suspended all campaign-related activities following the death of three party members in a fatal road accident.
The deceased reportedly died in a ghastly motor accident while returning home after attending a party meeting in Kaduna.
A statement issued by the candidate’s spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, said Shehu ABG expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, describing it as a painful loss to the bereaved families and the entire PDP family in Kaduna State.
The statement explained that the inauguration of the campaign council, the opening of the campaign office and other activities scheduled for Saturday had been postponed indefinitely in honour of the deceased.
Shehu ABG also regretted any inconvenience the postponement might cause, particularly to guests and other participants expected to attend the events from different parts of the country.
The deceased were identified as Caleb Ishaya Alot, Secretary of the PDP in Jema’a Local Government Area; Mercy Achi, Women Leader of Wise Ward; and Charity Bahago, a party member from the same ward.
The governorship candidate extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate families of the deceased and the people of Jema’a Local Government Area, while praying for the repose of the souls of the departed.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident.
