Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has called on Directors-General, Senior Special Assistants and other senior Government officials to always strategies efforts in curtailing the menace of banditry and other henious crimes in the state.

The Governor gave the charge while hosting Directors-General and Senior Special Assistants to the Governor to Ramadan (iftar) at his residence in Gusau, the state capital.

Matawalle informed them that they are representatives of the state government in all aspects, hence the need to redouble their efforts in assisting the government to achieve its set objectives.

He also called on them to be responsible to the welfare and safety of their communities, pointing out that government officials are always lagging in meaningful contributions in addressing insecurity affecting the state.

Governor Matawalle also warned political office holders to always be closer to their people, and wondered why political appointees are shunning away from their immediate communities.

He enjoined them to ensure their offices and telephone lines are accessible to their people so as to collectively monitor what is happening in their respective communities.

Earlier, the chairman of Directors General forum Alhaji Idris Garba Rikiji who spoke on behalf of DGs and SSAs Forum assured the Governor of their unflinching support and cooperation to the development of the state.
