The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, has described the late Malam Nafiu Baba-Ahmed as an elder statesman and religious leader who used Islam to promote peace and unity across the country.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mallam Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker expressed sadness over the death of the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria.
He prayed to Allah to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, who emphasized that the religious leader will be sorely missed for his professionalism career as an economist, academia and seasoned administrator.
The Speaker especially condoled with the family, Kaduna state Government and the Muslim Ummah, saying the late Malam Nafiu Baba-Ahmed’s passing is a huge loss to the Islamic community.
Mallam Nafi’u Baba Ahmad died last Tuesday in Abuja after a brief illness and has been buried according to the Islamic rites
