The Kano State government-KNSG has reaffirmed its commitment to improving support for vulnerable and disaster-affected individuals, especially during the rainy season.
The Kano state commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, gave the assurance while receiving the Kano House of Assembly Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, in his office.
The commissioner described the visit as timely and apt, pledging to work hand-in-hand with the House Committee to deliver the ministry’s mandate.

Kibiya expressed gratitude for the Committee’s visit, noting that stronger collaboration between the legislative arm and the Ministry is essential in delivering timely and impactful humanitarian interventions across the state.
In his remarks, Chairman house committee on humanitarian affairs, Alhaji Sule Lawan Shuwaki pledged the Committee’s readiness to provide legislative support in ensuring the Ministry meets its goals.
He stressed the need for proper facilities, logistics, and disaster response tools to aid emergency operations.
The chairman commended the establishment of the Ministry by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing it as a major step towards institutionalising humanitarian response systems in the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the mission of the Kano state ministry of humanitarian affairs is to provide effective humanitarian assistance, promote social protection programs, and implement sustainable poverty alleviation initiatives.
