Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has appealed to the Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure a seamless and smooth screening process for 2026 Hajj pilgrims at the Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International Airport.
The Director General of the board,Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo made the appeal during a meeting with the state Comptroller of immigration at the the board’s headquarter in Dutse,the state capital.
He explained that the meeting was aimed to discuss plans and strategies to enhance security arrangements for the forthcoming 2026 Hajj operations.
According to him, the provision of efficient screening equipment and procedures, which will facilitate smooth screening will significantly help in easing the process for pilgrims and ensure timely boarding for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo further appealed to security agencies and other stakeholders towards maximum cooperation to oversee the safety and property of pilgrims from the Hajj camp to the airport before departing to Saudi Arabia.
The DG thanked all the security agencies for their continued support and cooperation in order to achieve the desired objectives.
Responding, the security agencies assured the board of maximum support to the state government.
They also pledged to assist in providing security and ensuring the well-being of hajj pilgrims during the operation.
