Federal Government retirees have resolved to write to the Minister of Finance and the Accountant-General of the Federation over the delayed settlement of their benefits, despite Presidential approval.

The pensioners, during a meeting held in Lagos yesterday, warned against further delay in the payment of these entitlements, particularly the ₦32,000 minimum pension increase.

The senior citizens also stressed the need for Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD to expedite action on payment of deducted monthly pension for which computation had been completed.

The meeting which was attended by many members of the Federal Pensioners’ Unions also resolved to resume protests over lingering issues if not properly addressed by relevant authorities.

Comrade Dupe Akindele who was at the meeting expressed delight over large turn-out of retires while explaining that the letter was expected to be delivered to the minister and Accountant General of the Federation in Abuja.
