The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to partnering with non-governmental organizations to uplift the lives of vulnerable communities across the state.
This assurance was made during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Ummatee Center for the Promotion of Public Education, Accountability, and Social Safety (Ummatee-C4PASS), led by its Chairman, Malam Gazzali Ungoggo, to the Ministry’s headquarters in Kano.
Kibiya welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for Ummatee-C4PASS’s interest in working with the Ministry.
He emphasized that the current administration remains committed to improving the lives of the poor and vulnerable, but acknowledged that government efforts alone are not enough.
“This administration is fully dedicated to alleviating poverty and promoting humanitarian values,” Kibiya stated.
“However, we need the support of philanthropists and NGOs like Ummatee-C4PASS to complement our efforts and reach more lives.”
He pledged his Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with organizations that align with its vision, noting that initiatives aimed at education, accountability, and social inclusion are vital to achieving long-term development.
The Commissioner assured Ummatee-C4PASS team of the Ministry’s openness to sustained partnerships that would drive impactful humanitarian interventions across the state.
During the meeting, leader of the delegation Malam Gazzali Ungogo emphasized the urgent need for stronger collaboration between the Ministry and civil society groups to enhance public education, strengthen accountability, and ensure social safety for marginalized populations.
He particularly advocated for the integration of strategic support mechanisms for vulnerable groups into the revised Kano State Master Development Plan 2025.
