The Emir of Kano, Malam Mohammad Sanusi II, has praised Governor Abba Yusuf for prioritizing education, healthcare, agriculture, and security in the state.
The Emir expressed his gratitude while paying traditional Sallah homage to Governor Yusuf at Government House.
Sanusi commended the Governor for his outstanding work, particularly in education and agriculture, where he has provided subsidized modern farming implements.
The Emir also acknowledged the Governor’s kind gesture of giving cars to some individuals and appealed for a similar gesture to empower Local Government chairmen, which he believes will contribute significantly to poverty eradication in the state.
Governor Yusuf, in his response, expressed delight with the Emirate Council for promoting peaceful coexistence among residents.
He thanked the Emir and his entourage for their support and efforts to unite the people of the state.
The Governor also acknowledged the Emir’s incessant calls against antisocial vices in the state, describing him as “one of the finest” in terms of religious knowledge and propagation of Islamic teachings.
The Governor assured that his administration would continue to work tirelessly to transform Kano into a megacity with zero potholes on its streets.
He also tasked Local Government chairmen to perform better for their people, warning those who are not meeting expectations to “step up”.
