The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Alhaji Usman Shehu Bawa (ABG), has called for deep reflection and a renewed commitment to security, unity and shared prosperity as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
In an Independence Day message issued ahead of the October 1 celebration, ABG said the anniversary provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s journey, acknowledge its achievements and critically assess the challenges confronting the nation.
He expressed concern over the security situation in parts of Kaduna State, saying communities across Sanga, Birnin Gwari, Giwa and Lere, among others, continue to face security challenges that affect livelihoods and access to education.
Alhaji Usman Shehu Bawa called for stronger collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders to address the situation.
The PDP candidate also called for greater investment in healthcare, education, agriculture and small businesses, stressing that economic development must be accompanied by improved living standards and job creation.
He said his proposed P.E.O.P.L.E Agenda would promote equitable distribution of development projects, public appointments, educational support and agricultural empowerment across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
ABG urged residents to renew their commitment to unity, peace and mutual respect across ethnic and religious divides, while congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Kaduna State and all Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary.
He said the goal should be to build a safer, united, educated, healthy and prosperous Kaduna State.
