The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration period for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will end on March 8, 2025, with no extension.
The registration, which began on February 3, has already seen over 1.5 million candidates successfully register.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, on Tuesday in Abuja, the Board said that the deadline was clearly communicated in all advertisements and the official 2025 UTME calendar.
Benjamin urged prospective candidates to register promptly, warning against last-minute delays.
“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period. This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination,” the statement read.
JAMB also highlighted that its calendar is fixed, with subsequent programs such as examinations, results management, and admissions exercises tightly scheduled. Extending the registration period would disrupt not only JAMB’s plans but also those of partner agencies.
The Board encouraged candidates to complete their registration within the stipulated timeline to avoid missing out on the 2025 UTME.
For the first time in JAMB history, the board has successfully registered over 80,000 candidates daily, surpassing the initial 60,000-per-day target.
The board therefore stressed that this achievement eliminates the need for any registration extension, reassuring candidates that the process remains efficient and uninterrupted.
