FUG Rusticates 7 For Gross Misconduct

Federal University Gusau (FUG) has expelled five students and rusticated 7 others for gross misconduct which contravened the regulations governing the conduct of students in the institution.

This was disclosed in a press release signed and made available to journalists in Gusau by the information officer of the University, Mr Umar.

Mr Umar said the expulsion and rustication were conveyed on 7th July, 2023 by the acting Academic Secretary, Malam Mu’awiyya Bello.

He noted that the management of the University ratified the action during its 82nd meeting held on the 5th July, 2023 as forwarded by the students’ Disciplinary Committee of the University.

Malam Mu’awiyya who acted on behalf of the Registrar of the institution, Malam Yakubu Audu Anivbassa said the affected students were punished for different offenses ranging from burglary and stealing, assault, circulation of unverified news via social media and examination malpractice.

He said, the offenses contravened the provisions of section A item (xxv) and item (iv) and Section L item (i-xxv) of the students handbook.
