Gov Ishaku Warns CTCs Against Using Office To Advance Political Ambitions

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has charged the newly appointed local council committee chairmen to prioritize the maintenance of peace in their respective councils.

The governor made the call at the swearing-in ceremony of the fifteen out of the sixteen local councils caretaker committee chairmen held at the government house Jalingo.

He said as the first line of defence of the present administration, maintaining peace in their various local government areas should be their top priority as his mantra is ‘Give me peace and I will give you development’.

Governor Ishaku implored them to participate in the administration’s overall grand design which entails good governance, provision of infrastructure, and the overall well-being of all residents of the state.

“Your responsibility is to transmit our policies and programs to the rural population without partisanship. In line with this, let me cushion the new CTC chairmen not to use this opportunity to advance their political ambitions by ignoring the crucial task assigned to them which is to ensure that the people have good governance.”

“Therefore, I won’t think twice to discipline any underperforming chairman who abuses this privilege for personal gain”.

The Governor who also sworn in seven new Commissioners called on them to join forces with him in the execution of his rescue mission agenda for the remaining months to the end of his tenure in office.

Governor Darius Ishaku, however, warned the public against putting undue pressure on the appointees by making demands that could prevent them from completing the crucial task of enhancing the quality of life of the populace.

The Caretaker committee council chairmen of Jalingo, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, and that of Gassol, Dan’asali Iburu in an interview appreciated Governor Ishaku for finding them worthy and promised to sustain the rescue mission agenda of the present administration and assured their people of good governance.
