Zamfara State Government has launched a major initiative to overhaul the salary structure of its medical personnel, in a bid to improve working conditions and enhance the quality of healthcare delivery across the state.

Information Officer at the Zamfara State Ministry of Health, Sulaiman Isah, disclosed this in a statement, saying that, Governor Dauda Lawal has constituted a committee to develop a fair and competitive pay structure that reflects the professional value of health workers.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Usman Shehu Hassan, is tasked with ensuring that healthcare providers in the state are adequately supported and motivated.

Dr. Hassan revealed that the committee recently undertook a study tour to Kano and Jigawa States to examine their salary frameworks for health workers.

He explained that the team is carefully reviewing the models to adapt best practices that will guide the review and improvement of Zamfara’s pay structure.

“This initiative is about restoring respect and dignity to healthcare workers,”he said.

Dr.Hassan added  that the committee is committed to developing a system tailored to the specific needs of Zamfara State.
