President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, urging members to mobilise support across the country while sustaining focus on governance and national development.
Speaking at the inauguration at the State House, Abuja, President Tinubu expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for their support, stressing that the responsibility of governance must not be neglected in the pursuit of electoral victory.
He said his administration would continue to address the country’s economic and developmental challenges, attract investment and meet its financial obligations, while campaign council members take the party’s message to communities across the states and local government areas.
The President commended the APC for conducting its party congresses from the local government to the national level, describing the process as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to participation, unity and collective responsibility.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s manifesto and its objectives for national development.
President Tinubu urged the council to renew the party’s commitment to Nigerians by presenting its achievements, policies and future plans, while assuring that governance would continue alongside campaign activities.
In his remarks, Vice President Kashim Shettima called on council members to defend the administration’s reforms and build public confidence in its policies ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He cited economic growth and rising external reserves as signs of progress, while emphasising the need to translate these gains into employment opportunities, affordable food and improved public services.
He also urged members to engage communities, listen to public concerns and respond to opposition criticism with facts and constructive arguments.
The Vice President maintained that the campaign should focus on leadership, policies and the future of the country, urging party members to approach the exercise with unity, discipline and a clear understanding of the needs of Nigerians.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council , Abdulaziz Yari expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in the council, pledging that members would work diligently to secure his re-election.
He said the campaign would be anchored on the administration’s achievements and future plans, which would be communicated to traditional rulers, religious leaders and communities across the country.
The Director-General expressed confidence that the council’s collective efforts would strengthen the APC’s nationwide mobilisation and deliver victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
