The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has met with transport stakeholders to discuss the ongoing enforcement of third-party motor insurance for motor vehicles plying the State’s roads.

The meeting, attended by leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), and the Chairman of Kano Line Motor Park, was aimed to ensure compliance with the insurance requirement.

CP Dogo commended the stakeholders for their cooperation, noting that over 85% of motor vehicle owners possessed the required third-party motor insurance document from the first day of enforcement.

He encouraged the public to continue adhering to traffic rules and regulations, emphasizing the importance of road safety.

According to him, the Kano State Police Command will continue to enforce the third-party motor insurance requirement, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
