Association of Resident Doctors has call on the Federal Government to implement agreements reached towards ending its industrial action embarked upon.

The Chairman, Chapter of the Barau Dikko Teaching hospital Dr Sayyid Ibn Muhammed made the called in Kaduna While Speaking to Radio Nigeria.

Dr. Sayyid Ibn Mohammed Said Federal Government on its part had failed to fulfilled promises on the Memorandum of Understanding which involved payments of arrears, hazad allowance, insurance benefit among others.

”Federal government did not listen to our demands which will provide solutions amicably in the interest of health sector and effective service delivery”. 

     
”The industrial action has not affected the state own hospitals yet, we are hoping that government will respond to our demands positively to avoid further escalations, he noted. 

The Chairman also appeal to Kaduna state Government to improve the welfare of residents doctors in the state. 


       

Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director, Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna. Professor, Musa Abdulkadir Tabari who described resident doctors as the engine room of all Hospitals in the country, said government would never run any Teaching hospitals or medical centers without the resident doctors. 
     
According to him,  currently the country is battling to curtail the third wave of the Covid19 pandemic as well as economic however, advised governments at all levels to do more for  effective health-care service delivery.

Prof. Tabari commended Kaduna state Government for doing the needful  and appealed for more budgetary allocations and subventions to enable them continue with the ongoing projects. 

He called on private sector and phylantropist to partner with the hospital to assist patients that were valnarable and also invest in the ongoing projects. 
       
The Chief Medical Director similarly, used this medium to appeal to federal Governments to consider the demands of the aggrieved union to enable nigerians access  effective health-care service delivery.
