In an effort to tackle the pressing water supply issues in Birnin Kudu, the Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government, Dr. Builder Muhammad Uba, has directed the immediate repair of the pipeline connecting the vocational water treatment and supply station to communities including Dutsawa and Kantudu.
The intervention follows persistent challenges caused by both electrical and mechanical breakdowns of generators, which have disrupted water access for residents.
Expressing sympathy for the inconvenience faced by the affected communities, Dr. Muhammad Uba said, “We understand the hardship caused by the water shortage, and I personally feel the pain of every household affected.”
According to him, the council is committed to doing everything possible to rectify these issues and ensure a consistent supply of clean water to the people.
He promised to deploy all necessary resources to resolve the problems.
Dr Muhammad Uba urged staff of Birnin Kudu water board to redouble their efforts in maintaining the system and preventing future disruptions.
_”I encourage every worker at the water board to stay vigilant, be proactive, and eliminate any obstacles hindering our goal of reliable water supply to every corner of Birnin Kudu,”_ he said.
The Chairman pointed out that, another major water treatment and supply station is currently under repair, with works nearly completed.
This, he said, alongside the ongoing pipeline repairs, is part of his administration’s broader effort to boost water access across the local government.
Some of the people in the area said, this initiative underscores Dr Uba’s dedication to improving basic infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for Birnin Kudu residents.
They said that, they’re optimistic that these repairs will bring much needed relief to Dutsawa, Kantudu, and surrounding communities.
