Zamfara State Government has procured 20 town service buses from China to enhance local transportation within the state capital.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast Media and Public Enlightenment, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Gusau on the measures taken by government to improve transportation system in the state.

Mustapha Kaura said the initiative was part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s ongoing efforts to reposition the transportation sector for efficiency and accessibility.
He explained that, the State Governor had recently inaugurated 50 luxury buses for interstate transportation,noting that, the newly procured town service buses are currently on their way to Zamfara.
According to him, the state government has already constructed bus stops along major roads where the buses would pick up and drop passengers at designated points.
Mustapha Kaura maintained that, the gesture is aimed at easing movement for students, business owners, civil servants, and other residents who rely on public transport for their daily activities.
The Senior Special Adviser highlighted that, intra-city buses would also operate across all the 14 local government areas of the state to meet the transportation needs of the people.
He commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment to modernizing various sectors, described the town service bus project as part of the administration Urban Renewal Initiative to transforming the state’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
Kaura further noted that the history of public transportation in Zamfara had been characterized by years of neglect, but the current administration is determined to reverse the trend and make public transport efficient, safe, and affordable.
