The Health and Development Support Programme, in collaboration with the Jigawa State Ministry of Health, has successfully conducted free hernia surgeries for 45 patients at the Kafin Hausa General Hospital.

Project Manager, Malam Yusif Lawan Ringim, said the initiative targets a total of 220 hernia surgeries across six local government areas in the state.

According to him, the team has successfully conducted the surgery in Ringim, Birniwa, Gumel, and Kafin Hausa will now move to Dutse and Jahun for the same services.

Malam Yusif Lawan who said the program also provides medication and agricultural inputs to vulnerable in the state, advised the beneficiaries to abide by experts advice.

Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad, said the surgery was conducted successfully, while patients were given medicine and five thousand naira transport allowance each.
