Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA) has expressed concern over the alleged failure of many state governors to access the ₦250 billion fund available through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) for the development of primary schools.

The National President of the Association, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma Rigacikun, made the call in an interview in Kaduna, stressing the need for governors to pay their counterpart funding to benefit from the scheme and justify the Federal Government’s effort in establishing it.

Alhaji Haruna Danjuma said the PTA would embark on sensitization of state government on the need to address challenges of the education sector while calling for regular reports on utilisation of such funds expected to promote basic education.

The PTA President who met with some states chairmen of the Association in Kaduna assured of efforts towards enrolment of school children to check out of school syndrome as a result of economic hardship.
