The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, has extended warm greetings to Muslims on the commencement of Ramadan, calling on the faithful to embrace compassion, charity, and prayers for peace.
Falgore made the call in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, to mark the beginning of the Islamic holy month of fasting.
He described Ramadan as a sacred period that reflects the true values of compassion, sharing, and supporting one another, urging Muslims to increase their acts of charity, particularly towards the less privileged.
The Speaker emphasised the need for greater sacrifice and commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the poor and vulnerable in society.
“Ramadan presents an opportunity to pray more for Kano State and the country as a whole,” he said, while also praying for Allah’s acceptance of the prayers and sacrifices observed during the fasting period.
Falgore, on behalf of members of the Kano State House of Assembly, encouraged citizens to use the holy month to pray for peaceful coexistence, unity, and continued progress in the state and Nigeria at large.
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to promoting peace, unity, and the welfare of citizens, urging residents to reflect on the spiritual significance of Ramadan and uphold its values throughout the period.
