Three thousand, one hundred and sixteen vulnerable groups and less privileged women across the twenty three local government areas of Kaduna State have benefitted from the Renewed Hope Initiative, food outreach scheme of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Speaking at the flag off and distribution in Kaduna, wife of the President noted that the initiative was a way of helping to cushion the effect of the economic hardship on them.

Wife of the President who was represented by the wife of the vice president, Hajiya Nana Shettima maintained that the renewed hope initiative, social investment program was designed to assist and give hope to the people particularly those who are vulnerable and less privileged.

According to her, the initiative would continue to support vulnerable groups and less privileged ones across the country.

She maintained that the purpose of her visit to Kaduna state was to hand over the food items to the first lady of Kaduna State, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani for onwards distribution of the food items in line with the program of the food outreach scheme.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this initiative is ensuring that all Nigerians benefit and he is willing to support Nigeria to strive and live a better life”, she said.

In his remarks, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani who was represented by his Chief of staff, Sani Liman Kila applauded the efforts of the first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the gesture and support of vulnerable groups and less privileged ones in the country.

According to the Governor, the renewed hope initiative has positively impacted the populace of Kaduna State through its programs as this is not the first time they have enjoyed such gesture in the state.

In her welcome address, Commissioner Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Mrs Patience Fakai appreciated the first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu as well as the first lady of Kaduna State, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani who through the Renewed hope initiative have affected the lives of the people in the state positively.

Mrs Patient maintained that this is the fourth time, vulnerable groups and the less privileged ones in the state have benefitted from the initiative and urged all beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.

Highlight of the event, include the handling over of the food items packed in a bag to each beneficiary.

In an interview with some beneficiaries, Chairman Albinism Association of Nigeria Kaduna State Chapter, Abubakar Adam and State Chairman Disable Network, Nasiru Adamu all thanked the first lady of Nigeria for the gesture, saying the inclusion has boost their morale.

Some of the items in the bag include, spaghetti, semovita, noodles, tomatoes paste, and cereals, among others.
