Zamfara State Government has officially presented the letter of appointment to the new Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello.
The presentation was made by the Deputy Governor of the state, Mani Malam Mummuni at the government house Gusau
Alhaji Abdulkadir has become the 16th Emir of Gusau, following the death of his father, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Bello, who passed away on 25th July 2025 after ruling for ten years with dedication and honor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mumini urged the new Emir to work closely with all members of the Sambo ruling house and asked him to uphold the noble legacy of his forefathers.
Mani Malam Mumini appealed to those who contested the throne but were not selected to accept the outcome in good faith, emphasizing that, only one person can be appointed at a time.
He noted that most of the contenders were from the same royal lineage, and therefore, unity and cooperation are essential for the progress of the emirate.
Earlier, the new Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, expressed gratitude to Allah for his appointment, saying leadership is a divine gift and not something acquired through personal strength or strategy.
He called for forgiveness and appealed to anyone who might feel offended by him in any way to forgive him, just as he has forgiven everyone.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Bello stated clearly that, he holds no grudge against anyone.
According to the Emir, everyone had the right to contest the throne, but Allah, in his wisdom, chose him for the position.
The new Emir also prayed for peace to return to Zamfara State and for God to guide him in administering justice and fairness in his reign.
He thanked the Zamfara State Government for the appointment and called for continued support in promoting the development and wellbeing of the people.
