The Education Secretary of Chikun Local Government Area, Dr. Ibrahim Bulus, has commended Governor Uba Sani for his continued commitment to transforming basic education in Kaduna State, particularly through the creation of a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Dr. Bulus made this known during the graduation and speech/prize-giving ceremony of LGEA Primary School Narayi, held in Kaduna.

Represented by the Head of Planning, Research, and Statistics, PRS department, Mr. Yohanna Tambaya, the education secretary lauded the people-centered policies of the present administration Governor Sani, describing him as a transformative leader.

He expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the total renovation of LGEA Primary School Narayi, which falls within his domain.

He also appealed for additional support in the form of more desks and chairs for both pupils and teachers, as well as improvements in water supply, toilet facilities, and ICT infrastructure.

The special guest of honour and Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government, Mr. Bege Joseph Gaiya, expressed delight at the government’s effort in upgrading the school to modern standards.

He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the governor’s campaign promises to tackle the issue of out-of-school children and uplift basic education across the state.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Education, Mr. Ishaya Ayuba Ranga, Mr. Gaiya urged the Narayi community to take ownership of the upgraded facilities by safeguarding them against vandalism.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational development in the state as a means to promote socioeconomic growth.

In his welcome address, the Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Barnabas Yabo, noted that the intervention by the state government has given the school a significant facelift.

According to him, the renovated school now boasts of secure classrooms, a perimeter fence, and whiteboards that enhance effective teaching and learning.

However, he expressed concern over the lack of security personnel, urging the government to take responsibility for safeguarding the newly refurbished infrastructure for sustainable educational development.

Alhaji Sani Sangar, Chairman of the construction company who handled the renovation, went further by donating a security post and perimeter fencing to the school.

His contribution was widely applauded by guests and stakeholders for ensuring quality delivery on the project.

Mr. Sangar, in his remarks, encouraged the government to prioritize security investments in order to protect public infrastructure from vandalism and ensure longevity.

The event featured goodwill messages from the Sarkin Narayi, Chairman of the Igbo Community in Narayi, and the leader of the Ndi Igbo in Kaduna, among other distinguished guests.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates of recognition to individuals who have significantly contributed to the school’s transformation.

Among the awardees were Alhaji Sani Sangar, the education secretary, Emmanuel Saidu, and Daniel Karlmax of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, recognized for his consistent reportage on the school’s dilapidated condition prior to the government’s intervention.
