In a decisive move to bolster the fight against insecurity, the Zamfara State Government has convened a high-level security stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau, aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and unveiling new strategic measures against banditry and criminal activities.

The meeting, held at the JB Yakubu Secretariat and organized by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), brought together top security chiefs, senior government officials, and representatives of federal agencies for a comprehensive review of the state’s security situation.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the SSG, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, the session was convened to deepen synergy among all stakeholders in order to enhance the effectiveness of ongoing operations across the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada, who chaired the meeting and was later joined by the Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni underscored the administration’s high-level political commitment to restoring peace and stability in the state.

According to the statement, during the meeting, participants were engaged in a critical appraisal of the prevailing security challenges and adopted ten new strategic recommendations initiated by the state government.

It says the measures are designed to reinforce recent gains and upscale coordinated efforts in the fight against banditry.

Addressing the gathering, Malam Nakwada commended the courage and sacrifices of security personnel operating across Zamfara.

“The state government acknowledges the immense sacrifices you and your gallant officers have made in protecting our people. On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, I extend our deep appreciation for your unwavering service and dedication,” he said.

The SSG emphasized the need for adaptive and joint strategies in confronting evolving threats, stating that collective intelligence, innovation, and coordination remain vital to achieving lasting peace.

“To effectively tackle our complex security challenges, we must continue to adapt, innovate, and work together more seamlessly than ever before. Our goal is to chart a sustainable path to a safer and more prosperous Zamfara,” he added.

Malam Nakwada also expressed grief over the recent spate of attacks in parts of the state, conveying the government’s condolences to affected families and communities.

“On behalf of the Zamfara State Government, I sympathize with all victims of recent attacks and reassure citizens that we will not relent until peace is fully restored across every community,” he assured.

He further reiterated Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to equipping security agencies with the resources, logistics, and support required to decisively defeat criminal elements threatening the peace and security of Zamfara State.

In his closing remarks, Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni lauded the contributions of all stakeholders and called for renewed vigor and unity of purpose.

“We sincerely appreciate the efforts so far, but we must do more. Let us secure every inch of our beloved state and restore hope to our people,” he urged.

The meeting marks another bold step by the present administration in addressing security concerns head-on, as the government works toward a peaceful, secure, and thriving Zamfara State.
