Windstorm has killed one person, injured several others as well as destroyed over one hundred houses in Agbashi community in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Vice Chairman of Doma Local Government, Mr. John Bako – Ari said the unfortunate tragedy occurred on Tuesday in the evening.

According to him, over one hundred residential houses were destroyed including the Agbashi Central mosque, part of Pilot Primary School Agbashi and Several other Public Infrastructure.

“Is true that the windstorm destroyed over 100 houses including, mosque and primary school, the incident happened yesterday in the evening,” he said.

Also speaking on the incident, Acting Chairman Agbashi Development Association, Mr Anthony Oshinyeka, described the incident as unfortunate.

He appealed to government to urgently intervene to cushion the devastating effect on the distressed people of Agbashi community.

The Acting ADA Chairman solicited for immediate release of relief materials and medical aids by government and spirited individuals to the affected communities.
