Zamfara State Police Command has debunked the rumors circulating regarding the alleged abduction of worshippers during ‘Tahajjud’ prayers in Samaru Area, behind NTA.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, who confirmed the incident of attack said that it was a robbery turned violent that does not involve Worshippers.

According to him, the unfortunate event occurred early morning on April 2, 2024, when bandits raided the Samaru Area, targeting the residence of a provision trader named Ashiru Nagoma.

An eyewitness account explained that the bandits demanded money from Nagoma, who complied, but they proceeded to kidnap his nursing wife.

The eyewitness added that tragically, Nagoma attempted to intervene and was fatally shot by the bandits as he tried to rescue his wife.

Radio Nigeria gathered that another neighbor of Ashiru Nagoma was also targeted by the kidnappers, who attempted to abduct his pregnant wife. However, he negotiated with them to take him instead, sparing his wife

The police have launched a search and rescue operation to locate and free the abducted individuals.

ASP Abubakar urged the public to provide timely information to support law enforcement efforts in safeguarding lives and property in the state.
