The Adamawa state police command has arrested eight Shila boys and twenty three others for committing violent crimes in the state.


Commissioner of Police Sikiru Akande made this statement during a press briefing in Yola.


The Commissioner expressed worry on the increasing rate of culpable homicide, domestic and other violent crimes in some parts of the state.


Mr. Sikiru Akande said the suspects were apprehended in connection of culpable homicide, rape, causing grievous bodily hurt, criminals conspiracy, kidnapping activities, abortion and other violent crimes.


He urged the general public to desist from committing such violent crimes against their fellow human being for the overall interest of the nation.


The Police Boss further explained that, the arrest were made as a result of the sustained onslaught on criminal elements in their various hideout by the command tactical and intelligence officers.


Items recovered during the operation by the police command included 1 Toyota starlet car, 5 locally made single barrel guns, 8 handsets, 3 Matchets, 1 Laptop, a Tiger generator, 2 Live cartridges, Mp3 Torchlight and hard drugs.



The commissioner expressed appreciation to the government and people of Adamawa state for the continued support given to the command, and assured that, all the suspects will be diligently prosecuted on the completion of investigations.
