IGP Tasks Police PPROs on Effective Public Relations

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba has Charge police public relations officers to be more committed and dedicated in portraying good image of the Nigerian police.

IGP Alkali gave the charge during the opening ceremony of a 3-day police public relations officers training on strategic communication held in Kano.

Represented by the Kano Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko said Spokespersons play vital roles in managing information related to crime and criminality, and in ensuring that the public is kept abreast of required information ,hence the training and restraining is of high priority.

“The workshop will avail the participants with skills and expertise in communication. It will also enable participants to acquire advance relevant skills to give appropriate response to enquiries from both the public and the media on the reform agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

“I urge you to take advantage of this workshop to interact and communicate with one another, share ideas, and expand your communication skills, especially in responding to topical issues relating to security and public safety as and when due.”

According to him, experienced and professional resource persons were engaged and confidently they will bring the best out of you for effective service delivery.

The IGP added that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to remain committed to Training, Re-training and Human Capacity development to meet the demands of our dynamic society.
