SUBEB Disburses N400m Grant to Over 2000 Primary Schools in Kaduna

Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB has commenced the disbursement of about four hundred million naira grant to over two thousand primary schools across the state to address the challenges of minor repairs.

The Excutive Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Tijjani Abdullahi stated this at the flagging off ceremony for the handing over of the prototype cheques to four selected schools.

Alhaji Abdullahi said the disbursement of the grant is under the Better Education Services Delivery for All BESDA.

He explained that, the school grant was Introduced as a new disbursement link indicator by World and other Stakeholders to support primary schools to address the challenges of minor repairs without delay in schools.

The Excutive Chairman noted that, Kaduna state is among 17 states in Nigeria benefitting in the programme.

According to him 2358 out of 4260 public primary schools in the state qualified for the schools Grant.

Alhaji Tijjani Abdullahi maintained that, one hundred and eighty three thousand will be disbursed to each school, stressing that, the schools that appropriately responded and opened account for the disbursement were 2121 while the Board is still awaiting the account numbers of the remaining schools.

Earlier, Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, represented by the Director Education Planning and Physical Development, Malam Salisu Baba Lawal urged the beneficiaries to use the fund appropriately for the development of their schools

The Chairman of School Base Management Committee in Kaduna State, Idris Usman Dahiru expressed gratitude to SUBEB for the support.

He gave an assurance that, the committee would ensure each school use the fund appropriately to improve learning process in the state.
