Head of Federal Government delegation to Zamfara and Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika

From Bello Wakili (Abuja)

Federal Government says it has taken measures to ensure safe schools across the country.

The Head of Federal Government delegation to Zamfara over bandits’ kidnap of more than 300 schoolgirls, Senator Hadi Sirika, stated this after briefing President Buhari on their mission.

Senator Sirika, who is also the Minister of Aviation, alleged the possibility that some people would try to do things to embarrass the government, but that government had the resources to continue to give the best in the management of security.

Senator Sirika acknowledged that the country was passing through a hard time, but said the government had succeeded in containing ugly situations from escalating further.

He recalled how anachical the situation was during the previous administration when invaders’ flags were hoisted in some local governments and roadblocks mounted almost everywhere, with bomb explosions even Abuja, a situation that made movements and devotions extremely difficult.

The Minister urged Nigerians to appreciate efforts of the government in tackling the emerging security challenges, and join the fight by exposing undesirable elements in their mist.

He said the people and government of Zamfara State had been appreciative of the efforts of the President to ensure peace in the state, adding that Governor Bello Matawalle had expressed commitment to work with the President to end especially banditry in the state.
