Livestock Breeding: FG Trains Herders On Modern Techniques

Federal Government has reaffirmed Its determination in enhancing modern techniques of Agricultural production in all parts of the Nation.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Alhaji Mohammad Mahmoud stated this during the commissioning and handing over of motorized boreholes, and other facilities to the kano state government.

He said the administration of President Mohammad Buhari would Continue to Accord much priority to the agricultural sector geared towards enhancing the economy of the Nation.

The Minister who was represented by the Coordinator of the Ministry in Kano Abba Gana Yamani said federal government was working tirelessly in training Fulani pastoralists modern way of breeding livestock, aimed at boosting milk production in Kano state and the country at large.

He maintained that two milk collections centers commissioned at Tassa village in Dawakin Kudu and Dawanau in Dawakin tofa local governments areas would play a vital role in settling Fulani pastoralists targeted at curtailing farmer herders clashes in different parts of the Nation.

In a remark, the Deputy Governor of Kano State Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna who Doubles as the Commissioner for Agriculture Commended federal Government for initiating the Scheme.

The deputy governor who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Balarabe Karaye Noted that enhancing pastoral techniques among Fulani would curtail security challenges in many parts of the Nation.

Speaking to radio Nigeria the Chairman of Kano Diary and livestock husbandry cooperative union Usman Abdullahi Usman said the training given to them would boost milk production in the state and the Nation at large.

He reassured commitment in ensuring more milk collection centers are provided in the state.
