Zamfara State House of Assembly has deliberated and confirmed the extension of another Six months tenure for Fourteen Local Government Councils Interim Administrators of the State.

This followed the report presented by Special Committee led by the Deputy Speaker Adamu Aliyu Gummi Mandated to Screen the Local Government Interim Administrators before their Confirmation.

All the Fourteen Local Government Interim Administrators have appeared before the Committee during the Screening exercise.

It could be recalled that last month Governor Dauda Lawal sent a message through Secretary to the State Government Malam Abubakar Muhammad Nakwada, addressing the Clerk to the House, Mahmud Aliyu, seeking the House’s confirmation of Local Government Interim Administrators for another tenure as required by the law.

This necessitated the House, under Speaker Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, to invite all the Councils’ Interim Administrators for cross-examination to ensure justice and fairness in the confirmation process.

After extensive deliberation, Speaker Ismail Moriki announced that, with the unanimous consent of all Members, the House had approved and confirmed the extension of fourteen Local Government Interim Administrators for another six months, as requested by State Governor Dauda Lawal.

Speaker Isma’il Moriki charged all fourteen Local Government Interim Administrators to justify the confidence reposed in them by ensuring good and quality leadership in their respective Local Government Areas.
