Gov Uba Charges Corps Members To Be Ambassador Of Peace

Corps members have been urged to use the knowledge and experience gained during the orientation exercise as a foundation for their service to the Nation.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani stated this at the closing ceremony of the Twenty twenty -four Batch ‘A’ Stream Two Orientation Course held at the temporary camp in Kaduna.

Governor Uba Sani who was represented by Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu charged corps members to embrace the values of patriotism and be ambassadors of peace and progress in their host communities.

He added also that they are saddled with the task of bridging socio- cultural diversity through community development services, hence the need to respect the traditions, beliefs and culture of their host communities.

Also at the ceremony, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed reiterates the need for corps members to desist from embarking on night journeys.

He said the whole idea was targeted at checking road accidents as it affect corps members.

The NYSC Director General went on to remind corps members to continue with the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training programme as part of their post camp activities so that they can become self reliant and self employed.

State Coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Hassan Mahmud Taura while thanking the state government for it’s unwavering support to the scheme again encouraged corps members to adhere to all advices, instructions and regulations given so far.

Corps members have been posted to their various places of primary assignment to commence the service year.
