The Federal Government has expressed deep concern over the abduction of female students from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, assuring families that every effort is underway to rescue the girls safely.

In a statement, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the government shares in the pain of the affected families and stands firmly with them during this difficult period.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirmed that the protection of all citizens, especially schoolchildren, remains the State’s sacred duty.

He condemned the attack and the killing of school officials who were performing their lawful responsibilities.

The Minister said security and intelligence agencies have been directed to locate and rescue the abducted students and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice without delay.

He stressed that the Federal Government will not relent until the girls are safely reunited with their families.

According to the statement, strengthening internal security remains a top priority of the administration, with ongoing reforms to improve military readiness, policing efficiency, and intelligence gathering for faster and more precise responses to threats.

The Federal Government is also enhancing collaboration with regional bodies, including ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force, to secure Nigeria’s borders and disrupt terrorist networks.

Mr. Idris urged citizens to remain calm and confident as efforts intensify to rescue the students and prevent further attacks.
