In a somber atmosphere, residents of Kano have expressed their deep shock and sorrow over the sudden demise of former President Muhammad Buhari, who passed away in London.
Malam Bala Shehu, a resident of Kano, shared his thoughts with Radio Nigeria’s correspondent in Kano. “The late President Buhari was a true nationalist he dedicated his life to the unity and progress of Nigeria. His sacrifices for the nation will never be forgotten,” .
Anas Kabir, another resident, echoed Malam Bala Shehu’s sentiments, saying, “President Buhari was a leader who believed in the strength of our nation. He worked tirelessly to foster unity and peace among Nigerians. His demise is a great loss not just for Kano, but for the entire nation.”
Hajiya Aisha Mahmud and Saadatu Abdullahi, both residents of Kano, expressed their condolences to the family of the late president. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of President Buhari. He was a man of the people, always ready to listen and respond to the needs of his constituents,” Hajiya Aisha Mahmud said.
Saadatu Abdullahi said “President Buhari was a leader who was close to the hearts of the people. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.”
President Buhari’s body is expected to be flown back to Nigeria, where he will be buried According to Islamic Rights.
