Residents of Kaduna state have been urged to redouble effort towards mitigating fire outbreaks in the state.

Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency-SEMA, Abubakar Hassan made the appeal while commiserating with victims of fire disasters in various communities in Kaduna state.

The Executive Secretary said the call became necessary considering the number of fire incidents recently reported in various communities across state.

Abubakar Hassan noted that although deaths were not recorded, goods worth millions of naira had being destroyed in the fire outbreaks.

He appealed to residents of the state to handle fire agents with care so as to avoid fire disasters.

A team of officials from the State Emergency Management Agency were also at Lagos street where 16 shops were gutted by fire.

A Resident, Muhammad San who lost goods to the inferno, called on the state government to come to their aids.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of SEMA has enjoined residents of kaduna to be safety conscious to prevent fire disasters in the state.
