The appointments were conveyed in two separate letters dated October, 2026, signed by SWAN Secretary-General, Ikenna Okonkwo, ANIPR, on behalf of the National President, Isaiah Benjamin.

According to the letters, Sulaiman’s appointment as National Ex-Officio recognises his experience, commitment to sports journalism and capacity to contribute to the growth and development of the association.

He is expected to discharge his responsibilities diligently, uphold the SWAN Constitution and work with the National President, NEC members and other stakeholders to advance the association’s objectives.

The Secretary-General said the appointments take immediate effect. He congratulated Sulaiman and expressed confidence that his contributions would strengthen accountability and institutional discipline within the association.
