Kano State Pensioners Forum has appealed to the State government to review its current pension policy to improve the welfare of its members.

In a statement by Chairman of the Forum, Mallam Ado Ibrahim said the appeal became necessary due to the difficulties pensioners in the state face.

The Forum reminded the state branch of the National pensioners Union to discharge its mandate of protecting the interest of their members in the state.

It said the continued silence by the union on the current pension policies has led to pensioners to live below poverty line.

Mallam Ado Ibrahim urged the union and government to work out modalities aimed at alleviating the plight of pensioners in Kano.
