The member representing Buji/Birnin Kudu federal constituency in Jigawa state, Engineer Magaji Da’u Aliyu has donated food items and other relief materials worth over N19 million to the victims in the state.
Speaking at the flag off for the distribution of the relief materials, Magaji Da’u sympathized with the victims and urged them to accept the disaster as an act of God.
According to him, the devastating adverse effect of the flood are enormous and the victims are in need of assistance.
He said, the relief materials was to reduce the hardship they are facing but not to compensate their lost.
Magaji Da’u pray to Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to over 130 people who lost their lives and also prevent future occurrence.
The Member presented food and relief materials to the 9 district heads for onward distribution to the victims in their area.
Radio Nigeria reports that the materials include 800 bags of 120kg Maize, cooking oil, rice, roofing sheets, nails and other relief materials.
