More than seventy five thousand children under five years are targeted to be immunized against Polio in Kaigama local government area of Jigawa State.

The Manager, Primary Health-care Development Agency of the local government, Alhaji Lawan Garba Kaugama disclosed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Alhaji Lawan Garba said they have recruited and trained ad-hoc workers for the successful conduct of the immunization exercise.

He called on traditional and religious leaders as well as civil society organizations to mobilize people in the locality to achieve the desired goals.

The chairman of Kaugama local government council, Alhaji Ahmad Yahaya Marke enjoined households in the area to ensure that their children are immunized.

Also speaking, the local government Immunization Officer, Malam Inusa Jabo said they received seventy two thousand eight hundred polio vaccines from the State Primary Health-care Development Agency.
