Kano State Government says it will spend over 430 million naira for the year 2020 SIPF campaign and polio oral vaccination.

The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa stated this during a press briefing on the year 2020 immunization Plus Days held at the State Ministry of Health, Kano.

Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa said the 2020 SIPF campaign will commence in all the 44 local government areas of the State.

He explained that about 3,242,40 children were targeted for the exercise.

Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa pointed out that the Africa regional certification commission for polio eradication declared Nigeria polio free in the last four years, as such vaccination aginst polio will continue to be a cornerstone of routine immunization in every state in Nigeria

He said the state government was committed to training and retraining of health personnel, ensuring vaccine availability, monitoring and evaluation among others to achieve the desired objectives.

The Commissioner urged parents to compliment government’s efforts by supporting in surveillance and immunization efforts as well as ensuring that every child is fully immunized aginst childhood killer diseases.
