The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has continued to receive groups and individuals at his residence in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as part of activities marking the Eid el-Kabir celebration.
The visitors, who thronged the minister’s hometown, were on Sallah homage, coming from across the 14 local government areas of the state, including prominent party leaders at the state level.
During the visits, the delegations commended the minister for his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration since its inception in 2023.
They also praised his sustained efforts in promoting peace, unity, and cohesion among leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
The groups described Matawalle as a mentor and political leader who prioritizes the welfare of the people, irrespective of political affiliation and is widely known for his hospitality and simplicity.
He has also been recognized for his commitment to youth empowerment, particularly among those from disadvantaged backgrounds to enable them to become self-reliant.
Others said his efforts have contributed significantly to poverty reduction and curbing political thuggery and other social vices in the State.
Among the dignitaries who paid homage to the minister were the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, Yazid Shehu Danfulani; former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly and current Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya; Zamfara State APC Secretary, Ibrahim Danmaliki; and the party’s State Auditor, Yusuf Idris Gusau, among others.
Matawalle arrived in Maradun on Wednesday after observing the Eid prayer alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Dodan Barracks Eid Ground in Lagos.
He is also expected to engage with various political groups as part of ongoing efforts to mobilize support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
