Christians in Kwara State have been urged to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness and remain steadfast in faith.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Kwara, Anglican Communion, Sunday Adewole, made the call during the 2026 Good Friday service held at the Cathedral of Saint Barnabas, Sabo-Oke, in Ilorin.
According to him, forgiveness remains the foundation of peaceful coexistence and healthy relationships.
Bishop Adewole advised Christians to cultivate the habit of forgiveness, noting that we cannot live together without offending one another.

He also urged parents to be deliberate in shaping the future of their children through positive declarations, adding that words spoken over children can influence their confidence and direction in life.
“Let your confession be positive, especially over your children. Speak life into them and guide them in the right path,” he added.
The bishop further called on youths to prioritise the welfare of their parents, describing such responsibility as both a moral duty and a reflection of true Christian values.
Speaking on life’s challenges, Adewole encouraged worshippers not to lose faith during difficult times, reminding them that delays should not be misconstrued as denial.
“Delay is not denial. Stay faithful and do not lose hope. God’s plans will always come to pass at the right time,” he said.
He cautioned against sinful habits, urging Christians to live disciplined lives and entrust their concerns to God.
“Do not develop a taste for sin. Remain faithful and commit everything into the hands of God,” he warned.
The service drew Anglican faithful from within and outside Ilorin, who gathered to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and renew their commitment to righteous living.
