The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Kaduna State Command, has appealed to well-meaning individuals and philanthropists to support its efforts to effectively safeguard lives and property.
Commandant of the Kaduna State Command, DCF Aminu Amadu, made the appeal during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new theatre hall in Zaria, funded by a philanthropist, Alhaji Magaji Dan Aljannah.
Speaking at the event, DCF Amadu said such support would complement the humanitarian efforts of the Fire Service and strengthen its capacity to respond effectively to fire outbreaks and other emergencies across the state.
He expressed appreciation to the Zaria Local Government Council for allocating land and constructing the Zaria City Federal Fire Service Area Command.
The Commandant urged other wealthy individuals to emulate Alhaji Magaji Dan Aljannah and other stakeholders who have contributed to improving fire service delivery in the area.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engineer Jamil Ahmed Jaga, disclosed that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, would soon donate firefighting equipment to the Zaria Area Command and the Kaduna State Government.
Jaga said the Speaker remained committed to supporting the Fire Service to effectively discharge its responsibility of protecting lives and property.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives of the military and other paramilitary agencies, non-governmental organisations, firefighting stakeholders and well-wishers.
