Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has nominated his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and Balarabe Sa’idu Gani for appointment as commissioners in the state.

Their names were forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The Speaker of the House, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, announced the nominations during plenary after reading a letter from the governor.

He said the screening of the nominees would take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10 a.m.

The Speaker explained that the exercise would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Radio Nigeria reports that Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa currently serves as the spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Recall that the House last week screened and confirmed six commissioner nominees, including two-time commissioner Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa and former Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, Professor Sani Lawan.
