In a vibrant display of unity and political solidarity, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for their leadership strides at the federal and state levels.
The endorsement came during the commissioning of the Destiny 2027 Campaign Office of Brigadier General Katunku Gora (Rtd.) in Zonkwa, the headquarters of Zango Kataf LGA. The event attracted an unprecedented crowd of party faithful, youth groups, women associations, elders, and supporters from across the constituency, transforming the venue into a carnival-like atmosphere marked by songs, cheers, and party slogans.
Speakers at the occasion took turns to commend the APC-led administrations, describing their policies as people-oriented and development-driven. They cited ongoing infrastructure projects, youth empowerment initiatives, and renewed focus on security and economic revitalization as signs of responsible governance deserving continued support.
Chairman of the Local Government Stakeholders Forum of APC, Barrister Francis Kozah, emphasized the need for structural harmony, internal justice, and unity within the party as the political season approaches. He stressed that cohesion across party lines would strengthen the APC’s chances of consolidating its electoral victories.
Barrister Kozah advocated fairness in representation, particularly within the clusters that make up the Federal House of Representatives constituency of Jaba and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas. According to him, equitable power rotation and inclusivity remain critical to sustaining peace and mutual respect among party stakeholders.
A founding member and the first Legal Adviser of the APC in Kaduna State, Kozah appealed to party leaders and aspirants to prioritize collective success over personal ambition. “The victory of the party must remain supreme above individual interests,” he declared, drawing applause from the audience.
In his remarks, an elder statesman and critical stakeholder in 5 wards of the Local Government Honorable John Hassan Kantiok, noted that it was the turn of the remaining six wards to produce the next Federal House of Representatives member in the constituency. He maintained that zoning arrangements, when respected, foster unity and strengthen democratic culture.
Hon. Kantiok described Brigadier General Katunku as a seasoned professional with a strong national outlook, administrative competence, and a proven record of philanthropy and grassroots development. He said the retired General’s background in service and community engagement positions him as the most qualified candidate to effectively represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
In his address, Brigadier General Katunku Gora (Rtd.) expressed gratitude for the overwhelming turnout and show of confidence. He explained that the launch of the campaign office was aimed at laying a solid organizational foundation ahead of the formal commencement of campaigns.
The retired military officer highlighted the achievements of the APC at the local, state, and federal levels, noting that sustained support for the party would attract more democratic dividends to the constituency. He promised to champion legislation and initiatives that would address unemployment, improve rural infrastructure, enhance access to education, and support small-scale businesses if elected.
Responding to the enthusiastic participation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at the event, General Katunku pledged to pursue an inclusive leadership style that guarantees equal opportunity and representation. He assured them that accessibility, empowerment programs, and social protection measures would form part of his legislative priorities.
The event which also witnessed the inauguration of campaign Council of Destiny 2027 concluded with goodwill messages from women and youth leaders, who pledged to mobilize support across polling units in both Jaba and Zango Kataf LGAs. Observers described the gathering as a strong signal of early political coordination within the APC in Southern Kaduna ahead of the 2027 general elections.
