The All Progressives Congress (APC) has replaced Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bello Masari, as chairman of its National Convention Central Coordination Committee ahead of the party’s 2026 convention.
The change was announced on Friday by the APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Basiru, who said the committee was reconstituted following further consultations with party leaders and stakeholders.
Under the new arrangement, Mr Uzodimma will serve as treasurer, while the committee’s membership has been expanded from 73 to 90.
Anyim Pius Anyim, a former President of the Senate, was named vice-chairman, alongside Kwara State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum chairman chair, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, with Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni retained as secretary.
The APC also released an adjusted time table for its nationwide Congresses and the 2026 national convention, scheduled for 27–28 March.
The party said the revisions reflect zoning considerations and efforts to strengthen internal democracy, adding that only expression of interest and nomination forms obtained from its national secretariat in Abuja would be recognised.
